What Does it Mean to be a Human Being

This very timely lecture series explores deeply the question of how to create a human future in the midst of the age of technology. With material drawn from many sources, I work with Rudolf Steiner’s understanding of human and cosmic evolution and especially from the “Michael Mystery” essays, which help us understand this moment in time as the background for envisioning a healthy future. We then explore issues of artificial intelligence as well as the effect of smartphones from a social-psychological perspective whose influence is particularly dangerous upon children. Then, from the perspective of anthroposophically informed spiritual physiology, we explore the assaults leveraged through digital technology on the human etheric body, especially with respect to the freed forces of consciousness, and our urgent need to faithfully create habits of mindfulness and loving presence to be able to build a future of healthy human beings.
